SCADA systems are seperated from Direct Control Systems in many ways, but most notably by radio telemetry and geographic seperation. We have been implemented hundreds of products in terms of radio technologies, Human Machine Interfaces, Data handlers, Programmable Logic Controllers, Remote Terminal Units for over 2 decades. We general contract projects which involve end to end information gathering and processing to avoid gaps or overlap in responsibility often encountered when Engineering and Procurement Firms are out of sync.
